Step-by-Step Guide
1. Select the Raid Boss Pokémon
Start by choosing which Pokémon you'll be facing in the Tera Raid. You can:
- Use the search box to type the Pokémon's name
- Browse through the dropdown list of all available Pokémon
- Click on a Pokémon from the popular raids shown on the homepage
2. Choose the Tera Type
After selecting the raid boss, pick its Tera Type. This is crucial because the Tera Type completely changes the Pokémon's defensive weaknesses and offensive strengths. For example:
- A Fire-type Charizard with Dragon Tera Type becomes weak to Dragon, Fairy, and Ice moves
- Check in-game or community resources to confirm the raid's Tera Type if you're unsure
3. Click "Calculate Best Counter Pokémon"
After selecting both the raid boss and its Tera Type, click the "Calculate Best Counter Pokémon" button to generate your personalized counter recommendations. The calculator will analyze all available Pokémon and rank them based on their effectiveness against your chosen raid target.
4. Review the Counter Recommendations
The calculator will display a ranked list of the best counter Pokémon. Each recommendation shows:
- Pokémon Types: See the counter's type(s) and how they match up
- RES/IMMU/WKNS: Count of resistances, immunities, and weaknesses to the raid boss's moves
- Δ Stats: Stat advantages showing how your Pokémon's offensive stats compare to the raid boss's defensive stats
- Abilities: Recommended abilities that provide advantages against specific raid movesets
- Moves: Suggested moves for optimal damage output
5. Select Your Star Level
Use the tabs to switch between different raid difficulties:
- 1-2 ★: Beginner raids, most Pokémon will work
- 3-4 ★: Intermediate difficulty, type advantage recommended
- 5 ★: Advanced raids with competitive movesets
- 6 ★: Post-game content requiring optimized builds
- 7 ★: Special event raids with perfect stats - bring your best!
6. Check the Raid Boss Details
Scroll down to see detailed information about the raid boss including:
- Base stats and stat distributions
- Known moveset for that specific raid
- Possible abilities
- Type effectiveness chart
Understanding the Results
Type Effectiveness Icons
Pay attention to the type effectiveness indicators:
- ×2, ×4: Super effective moves - prioritize these!
- ×0.5, ×0.25: Not very effective - avoid these types
- ×0: No effect - the move won't work at all
Resistance Counts (RES/IMMU/WKNS)
These numbers show how well your counter Pokémon will survive:
- High RES: Resists many of the raid boss's move types
- IMMU: Completely immune to certain move types
- Low WKNS: Fewer weaknesses mean better survivability
Delta (Δ) Stats
The Δ values compare your counter's offensive stats to the raid boss's defensive stats:
- Positive Δ: Your stat is higher - better damage output
- Negative Δ: Raid boss has higher defense - expect lower damage
